Tacizade Cafer Celebi is an important statesman and a poet of classical Ottoman poetry 17 th century. Tacizade wrote many valuable literary works but the most known is Heves-name. This literary work was written like serguzestname style. The meaning of the work comes from its originality of descriptions, Heves-name has great meanings of its time. By describing the city of ?stanbul, Tacizade shows the way for social life and architecture of the time. Heves-name is not a sehrengiz like literary work, description of ?stanbul always comes out. But, so far there is not study about the description of ?stanbul in this literary work. ?n this study, only the descriptions of ?stanbul in preface are going to be analyzed. The descriptions subject Topkap? Palace, Hagia Sophia, Fatih Mosque. Not only architectural but also social descriptions were made. The quantitiy of verse is about three hundreds. ?nstead of analyzing all of them, only the verses describing social life of that time were dealed.
