It is aimed with this study to find out the effects of kitesurfing on sustainable tourism and the destination belongings of the stakeholders in Akyaka. In this reasearch, qualitative research method was used and also semi-structured interview technique was used as a data collection method. All interviews were done between 1st October and 10th October 2021 with surf instructors in Akyaka face to face. The data obtained were analyzed by descriptive analysis and also summarized by direct quotation. It was seen that kitesurfing is an irreplaceable experience for the participants and reflects their lifestyles as well. In addition to all of these, it demonstrates that most of the participants identify themselves with Akyaka and all feel a sense of belonging to the destination. It has been concluded that kitesurfing influences the Akyaka destination in terms of the socio-culturally and also environmentally but the highest effect is its contribution to economic sustainability. The pursuit of adventure and the desire to be in contact with nature of the post-modern societies of the globalizing world meet with kitesurfing and bring it to a global dimension. (Martin-Gonzalez vd, 2021). Akyaka is located in the gulf of Gökova which is defined as Turkey’s most popular kite surfing point. It is obvious that kite surfing will has economic, socio- cultural and economic effects on the destination. In this destination, giving place to the figures which related to kite surfing (scultpture, visuals, souvenirs, festivals..etc) and highlighting some features that is special to the kite surfing experience will contribute the formation of destination belonging for all stakeholders.
