DETERMINATION OF THE ATTIDTUDES ABOUT ELDERLINESS AND AGING OF THE SOCIAL WORK STUDENTS

This research was carried out to compare the attitudes of the students in the social work department with respect to their aging and aging according to their individual characteristics. It is a descriptive type of research. Data from the study group were collected with the "Attitudes Toward Aging and Aging" developed by the Adolescent (2016) in addition to the demographic questions prepared by the researchers. The scale consists of 45 questions prepared to determine the observations and impressions of the elderly and aged individuals over the age of 18 and is of a likert type of 5 with strictly disagree, disagree, undecided, agree, strongly agree. The difficulty of accepting the elderly consists of four sub-dimensions; social depression perception, difficulty coping with life, and negative image. As a result of the study, significant correlations between gender, age and income level variables and scale scores were determined (p<0.05. Attitudes are at the root of friendships established with people in life. It is extremely important to have positive feelings and attitudes when it is thought that emotions, thoughts, and thoughts are the main factors determining attitudes. For this reason, it is an important necessity to investigate the attitudes of the youth towards the elderly in the plans to be made towards the elderly
