Nurses that are in a rapidly developing and changing health system should be individuals who are aware of themselves well, giving importance to individual and social development, thinking, inquiring, querent, making intelligent decisions, not staying out of discussions about themselves, renewing themselves continuously, thinking critically and directed to the innovativeness. This study was conducted to determine the relationship between critical thinking levels and individual innovativeness characteristics of nursing students. The research was conducted with 339 nursing students in Kastamonu University Faculty of Health Sciences Nursing Department in 2017-2018 Spring Semester. Data were collected using the Introductory Characteristics Form, California Critical Thinking Disposition Scale, and the Individual Innovativeness Scale. The data were analyzed using SPSS 18.00 package program, number, correlation analysis, ANOVA, t test, variance analysis. Significance was assessed at p <0.05 level for all tests. When the students' critical thinking tendency is analyzed, they range from 209.85 to 211.56 points, which are low scores. According to the findings of this study, there is no significant difference between the mean scores of critical thinking tendencies between the classes. The average individual innovativeness scores of the students ranged from 63.52 to 65.38, and the score of the students was assessed as & quot; low level of innovativeness& quot;. According to the results of the study, there is no significant difference between individual innovativeness scores. Individual innovativeness features and critical thinking tendency of students participating in social and scientific activities were found to be significantly different, and individual innovation scores of students with new ideas about nursing profession were significantly different. When the relationship between critical thinking tendencies and individual innovativeness is analyzed, it is seen that there is a moderate and meaningful relationship (r = 0,557, p <0,05). Based on this result, to increase the critical thinking and individual innovativeness of the students who will be future nurses, it may be suggested that, primarily the education programs and course contents should be organized in a manner that the nurse candidates will be educated as critical thinkers and innovative individuals, and that the students are supported by nurse academicians to read books and participate in scientific-social activities
