The number of disabled people in Turkey and the world has been growing. Participation of disabled individuals in social life and their integration into society is an important issue. There is an increasing social awareness towards the problems of the disabled in Turkey. Disabled people often have limited access to tourism activities; however, participating in tourism activities is of their basic human right. It is a need to carry out a wider research to understand disabled people’s expectations and demands. Providing better conditions and opportunities for disabled people to participate in touristic activities is important for their integration with the society. There is very little research on the conditions of the touristic resorts that provide better conditions for disabled people. This study reviews various literatures in order to understand disabled people’s experiences, ‘accessible tourism’ and its place in tourism industry. In this study, the data collected through interviews in order to provide better insights into the topic. The study has reached 7 disabled participants, who either work or study at Kilis 7 Aralik University. The aim is to focus on the disabled people’s expectations and find the ways to integrate them into the social life by examining their issues and finding solutions.
