A vast majority of the studies related to the Rhetoric in the field of Turkish Literature accounts for text publishing and the researches upon them. For a very dense information about rhetoric is given through the researches and the texts mentioned before, in line with the purpose of this study, the issues as the definition of rhetoric, its parts and other related topics are not yrt touched upon. A brief introduction related to the definition of rhetoric is given and a commentary upon how Diwan poets perceived this conception, how they made of rhetoric in their poems, their ideas and the points that rhetoric is resembled.
For this study, without any croiteria taken into account, approximately 60 Diwan poems were scanned and the lines having 'rhetoric (belagat)' were chosen and classified. Later on, by moving from this classification; the perception of the Diwan poets for rhetoric was studied. While the classification and the commentary process is on, how the poets qualified the rhetoric, what were their opinions and their correlations among the other subjects and rhetoric itself are highlighted. Poets, initially, used the rhetoric as effective and the supreme words and resembled it to friends' summon, wine glass, cosmic items, countries, kingdom, war crafts, arenas, rose gardens, nightingales, parrots. By having these imaginative worlds are discovered. However, solely 17 items are studied in this work for the terms with which a comparison shall be made surpasses 50 in number and their study may cover a book size work.
