The asking of forgiveness of a person from God for his/her mistakes and forgiving towards others is very important act in all world religions. Forgiving as an organizing act between man and the God and between man and others has an important place from point of modern psychology as well as religious and social values. This article presents the religious and psychological dimensions of the concept of forgiveness. From psychological point of view, it examines the interpersonal relationship in forgiveness, the process of forgiveness, the psychology of forgiver, and the characteristics of the forgiving person. Lastly, it focuses on the therapeutical dimension of repentance in the slâmic thinking.
