Clothing fashion varying before and after the Tanzimat (age of reforms) reveals a set of diversity. Especially modernization, which shows itself after the Tanzimat, causes change in the society. Clothing as well as elements such as space, assets, etc. is affected by this change. A set of innovations from the model of clothing to the pattern of the fabric start to be conspicuous. It is seen that the fashion phenomenon taking place in magazines finds place within the propertied class. Halid Ziya and Mehmet Rauf being important novelists of the age of Servet-i Fünun (age of wealth of sciences), as novelists knowing and cognizing the West, realistically treat events, people, depictions and clothing in their novels. In this study, how changing fashion of clothing reflects on novels and how they are affected by this change will be tried to be explained.
