Organizational commitment, which is defined as employees' acceptance of organizational goals and values and selfresponsibility to accomplish them, is crucial for organizations to be able to sustain their assets and be successful. Because organizations can only achieve the goals they set out with their employees. Organizational commitment, consisting of emotional, continuing and normative commitment dimensions, affects organizational concepts such as work performance, productivity and quality positively. Emotional commitment is more important than other types of commitment in the literature. The purpose of working in this context is to find out whether the levels of emotional commitment of shipyard employees have an effect on employee performances. For the purpose of the research, the data obtained by the questionnaire method from the staff of 297 blue-collar employees of a shipyard operation in the Yalova Alt?nova Shipyard Area was analyzed with the aid of the package programs SPSS 21 and AMOS 21. As a result of the structural equation modeling with path analysis, it was found that the emotional commitment of the employees is an effect on the work performance positively and significantly (β = 0,612; p <0,01). According to these findings, the level of emotional commitment of shipyard employees in the survey has been found to increase in employee performance
