Menkabes, as epic anecdotal narratives, serve as a source and bear witness to a period in which the person whose life is narrated lived. The original aim is to narrate the life of the sheik, his deeds and commentaries. These could also be used to document historical events and personal operations; to be materials on the sociology of the societies; and to provide knowledge on the period’s linguistics In the content of Menak?b-nâme about ?eyh Evhadüddin Kirmani, there are many anecdotes that clearly confront the basic compliances of the then-Muslim society. The actions Islam forbids and hence a sufi should strictly stay away are freely committed in many of the seventy-eight narratives brings some questions to mind. Actually the efforts made by the orientalism to ridicule the great sufi personalities is a well-known case. Menak?b-nâme of Evhadüddin Kirmani presents o load of evidence which proves this.
