In this research, it is aimed to analyze the relationship between smartphone addiction and emotional intelligence on high school students. The sample of study consists of 805 (456 female, 349 male) high school students. The data of high school students smartphone addiction was collected by using "Smartphone Addiction Scale" and the data of emotional intelligence "Bar-On Emotional Intelligence Scale Child and Adolescent Form". Pearson correlational analysis and multiple linear regression were conducted to reveal the relationships between study variables. There was determined negative significantly relationship between smartphone addiction and emotional intelligence. It was found that between smartphone addiction with emotional intelligence scale dimensions such as personal skills, stress management, compliance, general mood was determined a significant negative relationships. It was determined that, the stress management dimension of emotional intelligence scale was an important variable at predicting all dimensions of smartphone addiction. In addition, it is determined that the personal skills dimension of emotional intelligence scale is an important variable at predicting the tolerance dimension of smartphone addiction. Also the adaptability dimension of emotional intelligence scale is an important variable at predict both positive anticipation and tolerance dimensions of smartphone addiction.
