Abbassids, came to the power after the Umayyads and stayed away from the mevali policy especially enabled the Turks to show theirselves in the historical area. In this way Islamic world testified emerging of the dignified commanders whom had loyalty to their masters and religon. The Abbasids ended the power of Umayyad dynasty with the support of Mewali who the majority of were Iranians. Accordingly, the Iranian factor took a dominant position in the Abbasid state administration. Shortly after the establishment of the state, the Abbasid caliphs who had problems with the Iranians, turned to the Turks to create a balance against the Iranians in the army and included thousands of Turkish soldiers into the Abbasid army. In this period, the commanders such as Af?in, E?nas, ?nak, Vasif, Taur al-Kebir came into prominence. Between 836-892, it is called the Samarra period in Abbasid history. In this period, the Turkish commanders were influential in the administration of the state, nobody could become caliphs who they did not want them, nothing could not done which they did not approve. One of the most influential figures in the formation of such an attitude in this period is E?nâs et-Turkî. He always made and lived firsts in the history of Abbasid. E?nas is the first commander named after the caliphs in sermons, the first person who was given sultan title and enthroned by the caliphs, chief commander, the first Turkish descent hacip (vizier) of the caliph and the governor of all the western provinces. In this work, the life, military and administrative activities of E?nas et-Türki who directs the history of Abbasid, will be discussed.
