EPISTEMOLOGICAL AND METODOLOGICAL CHANGES IN SOCIOLOGY OF RELIGION: OPPORTUNITY OF QUALITATIVE ANALYSIS HARDWARES’ CONTRIBUTION

In this paper, paradigmatic return in social science methodology’s reflections on sociology of religion practises of is mentioned. In general understanding, within secession of positivist paradigm in social sciences, number of qualitative researches also increases. Based on the development of qualitative data analysis perspective, possibility and problems of Nvivo program’s use in sociology of religion researches, that has already been used in qualitative researches, is discussed with reference to sample researhes. In the result of the researches it is seen that, NVivo program provides significant contributions and conveniences in researches carried out in sociology of religion, on the other hand; there are important points to pay attention, which can result in wrong ways in terms of methodological understanding. Along with technological developments, there is opportunity to make analysis of video, audio, photograph, map, web page, text via NVivo Program and these opportunities have the potential to offer o a new point of view for sociology of religion researches.
