ERZURUMLU OSMAN SİRÂCEDDİN’İN HAYÂL-İ BÂL ADLI Mİ‘RÂCİYESİ

If we scan the Islamic Turkish Literature, we find out that most of the work is about The Prophet Muhammad’s life. If we evalute these studies by count and volume, we see that the “mi‘raciye” which include the miracle “mi‘rac” takes first place. Our poets have written about this miracle which The Prophet Muhammad’s ascents to heaven (the 27 th Rajab). In addition this issue mentioned in lots of “mi‘raciye” from XIII. century to XXI. Century. Poet Osman Siraceddin from Erzurum, who lived in XIX. Century, joined the group of people who wrote “mi‘raciye”. The poet whose pseudonym is Siraci wrote “mevlid” as well as Masnavi of Hayal-i Bal which is about this miracle designed up with verse. In this paper, we’ll briefly talk about “mi‘rac” and “mi‘raciye” and identify some concepts and phenomena that we’ll use in examining the poet’s life and his works. After that we’ll give further detail about the Masnavi of Hayal-i Bal and we’ll provide transcript of this poem.
