Globalization which are considered as a result of technological and social developments has become one of the most important trends in recent years. Globalization can be described as an erosion of time and space barriers that limit human activity worldwide and can be expressed as an increase in the awareness of these changes. Thus it would be appropriate to say that globalization creates certain opportunities and become effective on organic agriculture. The concept of sustainability in conjunction with the globalization is one of the subjects on the agenda in recent years. Organic agriculture plays a key role according to the agricultural trends related to globalization and sustainability. Organic agriculture has spread rapidly and has attracted the attention of consumers not only in the world but also in Turkey recent years. In this context organic food market has grown increasingly from a global perspective and who want to get a share of this market have increased their competitiveness with new trends. The main objective of this study examines the current status of organic agriculture in terms of the world and Turkey as well as the development of organic agriculture deals with economic dimension.
