People are constantly alerted to the built and natural surroundings. Open space; trees, fragrant plants, architectural structures, indoors; different colors, textures, odors, sizes and shapes of elements cause this situation. In this context, concepts, design, space design, focus surfaces are very important terms. There are many designers and design theories that exploring all these concepts. Gestalt principles are at the beginning of these theories. These are principles such as affinity, similarity, complement, shape-ground, continuity, simplicity, uniformity, conformity. Basic design principles are principles that are effective in the construction of gestalt principles and enable us to better understand the design or organization we use in the design phase. In addition to these principles related to design theory, a number of parameters are included in the scope of the study, including functional criteria. These are defined by their similarity, identity, functional, aesthetic, simple, unique, moving, unity, balance, sovereignty, continuity, shape-ground effect and proximity and they are used with "semantic differentiation scale" together with their opponents. Within the context of this study, the "Karadeniz Technical University Faculty of Forestry Foyaya Space Age Log Wall Design" prepared and applied in 2017 was evaluated in terms of design principles by interior space users. It was then evaluated by the users. suggestions for similar designs and applications were presented in the direction of the obtained results. According to these results; While the "continuity" (6,34) parameter is among the highest results, the "unique" parameter (3,73) is among the lowest results. The aesthetic and functional factors considered in the design process were applied.
