For the fashion industry, which has been rising rapidly in the 20th century, the concept of trend has an important place in meeting customer expectations and increasing the sales of clothing companies. Although the trend has been defined as a trend towards situations and events in many sources, it means much more for the fashion industry. Because as a result of globalization, the fashion industry is affected by all areas and this situation gives direction to trends. In particular, as in every sector, trends in the fashion industry differ and change in different lines, colors, silhouettes and fabrics every period in line with customer expectations. The best indicator of all these changes is historical data. While predicting fashion trends, it is essential to analyze the historical adventure of fashion and determine other prediction methods. The aim of this study is to reveal the situations that shape trends and affect the fashion industry, and in this context, to eliminate foresight deficiencies and to raise awareness about trend forecasts. As a result of the study, suggestions were made by revealing the effects of the trends-guiding situations in the fashion industry, and it was concluded that especially good analysis of historical data plays an important role in guiding designers while making trend predictions.
