Sociology of literature has been improving in Turkey as well since the second half of 20th century. Conscious and systematic usage of artworks plays an important role in understanding the emotions, opinions and actions within social relationships and in increasing the sensitiveness of social work students and experts. The aim of this study is to evaluate the events occur in the novel within the scope of basic variables of domestic violence and the effects of domestic violence (especially witnessing the spousal violence) upon children by tackling Alina Bronsky's novel named Broken Glass Park from the point of social science / social work. Content analysis has been used in the analysis of the novel as a method of qualitative researches. There are full of useful citations in the novel on domestic violence and on the effects of violence upon children. From this point of view, it is very significant to analyze this kind of written works from the perspective of a social scientist similar to this study. Using such written works within curriculums in all fields of social science, will increase the efficiency of education to a great extent.
