EXAMINATION OF CLIMATE COMFORT CONDITIONS OF MARDİN PROVINCE IN TERMS OF TOURISM

The climate, which is important factor that affects human activities, also affects peoples’ tourism activities for travelling, having fun, relaxing and cultivating. Bioclimatic comfort is the weather conditions in which people feel most comfortable and healthy.In this study, the most suitable months for bioclimatic tourism activities of Mardin province which has become the center of cultural and faith tourism within the GAP in recent years were detected. The temperature and relative humidity values of Mardin province covering the years of 1941-2018 (78 years) were obtained form Mardin Meteorological Station Directorate and various analyzes were made with these data. High temperatures are observed between april and september months in Mardin. Where continental climate conditions are seen. The diversity of topographical structure of province caused the climate to change over short distances. In this study, bioclimatic comfort conditions, spatial distribution, changes during the year and comfort conditions are emphasized on areas suitable for tourism. In this context, while May and October have the most comfortable weather conditions for people who will participate in the tourism activities in the study area, in June, July and August extreme hot temperature and December and February cold weather aren’t suitable for tourism.
