Improving performance of an athlete depends on a set of psychological and cognitive skills as well as physical abilities. Ability to imagery is one of the most important skills to enhance the performance and to be prepared for the races. Imagery is examined and applied in numerous types of sport in order to rehearse for the sport strategies, to be specialized in certain motor works and to improve performance. The purpose of this study is to define which types of imagery do the players in team sports such as football, volleyball, basketball, handball and ice hockey use in 2016-2017 season and also to indicate if there are any differences among them according to criteria of age, gender and sport duration. 276 men (51,0%) and 265 women (49,0%), totally 541 athletes attended to this research voluntarily. In the context of the research, a personal information sheet has been prepared by the researchers and Sport Imagery Questionnaire (SIQ) has been used as an measuring instrument. Internal consistency of the replies given to the scale was measured with Cronbach’s alpha (α) and the alpha coefficient was found as .89. Data were analyzed with SPSS 20 packaged software and descriptive statistics, frequency (f), percentage (%), T-Test and ANOVA tests were used. According to the results obtained, criteria of sport duration, gender and sport branch makes significant statistical differences. However, groups do not have meaningful statistical differences according to the criteria of age.
