The Purpose of this study is to examine the level of mental toughness of athletes who play individual and team sports at elite level and whether they differ according to gender, age, education level and time span of participation in that sport. 56 male (54.6%), 50 female (45.4%), totally 106 athletes from individual sports (Track and field, Boxing, Karate, Bicycle); and from team sports, (football, basketball, volleyball, handball), 57 male (56.4%) and 44 female (43.6%) participated in this study voluntarily. In the study, " Sport Mental Toughness Questionnaire (MTTQ) ", which was developed by Sheard et al. (2009) and adapted to Turkish by Alt?nta? (2015), and personal information form prepared by researchers were used. The internal consistency of responses in the study was examined by Crα and the coefficient was found to be .83. Analysis of the data were made with SPSS 21 program, frequency (f), percentage (%) of descriptive statistics; T-test and ANOVA tests were used. As a result of the research; individual athletes have higher levels of mental toughness than team athletes. In addition, when the variables such as gender, age, education level and duration of sport were examined, statistically significant differences were found in the groups.
