EXPECTATIONS OF IMAM HATIP HIGH SCHOOL

Imam Hatip High Schools have been one of the most discussed institutions in terms of objectives, structure, programs, students and graduates in general education since its foundation. Despite all these discussions and developments, increased by number of schools and students of this schools that meets the religious education needs of the people and ranks first in the school preferences. In this study, it is aimed to determine the reasons of preference of people who prefer to study in ?mam Hatip High Schools and their expectations from these institutions. Quantitative data collection techniques were used in the study. The sample of the study consists of 489 Imam Hatip High School students studying at 5 different high schools. At the end of the study, it was determined that it was effective in selecting students of this school firstly to get a good religious education, trust in these schools, lack of points, family orientation / pressure and the positive image of these schools. Students' expectations from these schools are as follows. increasing social activities and preparation fort he university exam, reducing the intensity of vocational courses, updating course contents, effective communication of teachers with students. According to the findings students at these schools think that ?mam Hatip High Schools are not vocational religious schools, evaluate as the schools that prepare them for university.
