This study was conducted among the students who preferred the Faculty of Theology at Dokuz Eylül University in 2018-2019 academic year. The aim of this study is to learn the reasons of preference of the students who prefer Dokuz Eylül University Theology Faculty. In the study, the reliability and validity of the scale was determined and the factors related to the faculty preferences of university students were used. It is seen that the results obtained from the research are similar to the results of the researches conducted in this field. According to these results, among the reasons for preference of students, the love of theology department, the desire to be employed in the field of religious services and their willingness to become teachers were the most prominent results. The academic and social competence of the Faculty of Theology at Dokuz Eylül University, the regional characteristics and the interest towards reading the Department of Theology are other results
