Studying proverbs and idioms, which have an important function in transferring the knowledge of a culture, is one of the most basic ways of recognizing the sociocultural structure and values of that society. In this study conducted to examine the judgments about gender image in proverbs and idioms, daughter, boy, daughter, boy / son, woman, female, male, er, father, widow, avrat ”and related words were searched in related dictionaries and electronic databases, 118 proverbs and 52 phrases were found. As a result, it was determined that gender discrimination was made in proverbs and idioms of our society and negative judgments against women were high.
