Information technology which has become one of the most basic elements of information society leads to inequality depending on the usage differencies. Differences in access to information technologies is called digital divide, digital gap. With the constantly evolving technology, the digital divide has become a problem for people, companies and countries reveal negative social and economic effects. Various indexes and methods have been used to determine the level of the digital divide. Although a standard tool for measuring inequalities, Gini coefficients have been used rarely in digital divide literature. In this study, digital divide levels of computer, internet, mobile phone and internet banking usage according to those living in urban-rural areas and gender in Turkey was determined by the Gini coefficients. According to results, gender digital divide constantly decreases in Turkey since 2007, while in rural areas digital divide increase continuously.
