The object of this research is to analyze the historical transformation of social and political identity in Cyprus. This research of long-term history is tried to deal with important events in the period. Many local and foreign academic resources are taken into account to make a sophisticated research. An eclectic method is used in this research to analyze the role of Greek culture in Cyprus. Also, it is revealed that how nationalism transformed the process which is started with Hellenism in Cyprus. This paper questions the thesis that Cyprus had been a Greek Island continuously for three thousand years. As a result of the research, it is claimed that the Greek culture in Cyprus is not the continuation of the historical process but a constructed history.
