There are many factors that affect the process of grief after a person has lost a loved one. Many factors, such as the closeness of the deceased person, age, the importance of the remaining person's life, affect the process of grief. It's a time of mourning. However, this period is not a healthy breakthrough reveals the pathological status. The unexpected loss of loved person can be much more painful for relatives. In this case, the families of martyrs are the ones who have lost their relatives unexpectedly. Relatives of martyrs are expected to react differently from other people in the process of grief. Because the deceased died in the duty of his homeland and the homeland owes gratitude to the martyr. It is not only the family of the martyr, it is a very large population. In this case, a solemn attitude is expected from the families of martyrs. However, the pressures and expectations of the environment may be an obstacle to the martyrs 'families' mourning. The process of mourning that is not fully experienced can last a lifetime. For this reason, psycho-social support studies are needed for the healthy ending of the mourning process. In this study, it is aimed to provide psycho-social support to families of martyrs by means of the group work, which is one of the social service implementation methods by using Worden's mourning consulting model. In order to evaluate the effectiveness of the 6-week group study, the Beck Depression Scale and the Core Bereavement Items were used, and as a result of pretest-posttest assessments, there was a difference in scale scores for improvement. As a result of this study, it was understood that the families of the martyrs needed such psycho-social services and it was seen that these work should be expanded.
