The Treaty of Lausanne was signed after the Turkish-Geerk War in Anatolia. By the virtue of that treaty, Cyprus was relinqished by Turkey to the United Kingdom. The first purpose of this study is, to study the difficulties encountered during the British rule by the the Turkish society which lived there. The other purpose is, to study the effct of the social revolution occuring in Turkey upon the establishment of the republic.
