The aim of this study is to measure the perceived social support level of the elderly over 60 years old living in Cank?r? Ismail Ozdemir Nursing Home and Ilgaz Hac? Mustafa Akbak Nursing Home. Descriptive analysis was conducted in the study which was designed as a quantitative research. Eighty-eight elderly people selected with the appropriate sampling method participated in the study. In addition, elderly people who can perceive and answer the questions posed voluntarily. The data of the study, “Sociodemographic Characteristics Form taraf?ndan developed by the researcher and“ Multidimensional Perceived Social Support Scale en developed in the United States were used. Data were analyzed using SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Science) version 23. The data were tested with oneway analysis of variance, t-test, chi-square and correlation analysis. The perceived social support level of the elderly who participated in the study was examined. The relationship between socio-demographic characteristics and the level of social support perceived by the elderly was investigated depending on variables such as length of stay in nursing home, having chronic discomfort and meeting daily needs. The perceived level of social support was found to be high in the majority (59.6%) of the children and their relatives. Moreover, it is seen that the majority (68.1%) of those with a high perception of social support have a moderate and good income. It is understood that the majority of the elderly (63.8%) who have a high level of social support perception have children, and the perceived social support level of the elderly visited by their children and relatives is high.
