The aim of this study is to examine the level of perceptions of primary school teachers about the types of organizational power used by primary school principals in management and whether they differ according to various variables. Descriptive scanning model was used in the research. The universe of the research consists of primary school teachers who work in public institutions and private schools in Istanbul. The sample of the study consists of 255 primary school teachers who work in public institutions and private schools in Avc?lar district of Istanbul. “Personal Information Form” and “Power Types Scale” were used as data collection tools. The Types of Power Scale is a seven-dimensional scale which is “reward power”, “coercive power”, “mutual power”, “expertise power”, “knowledge power”, “commitment power ”,“ charismatic power”. Scales were implemented in the second semester of 2018-2019 academic year. SPSS 24 package program was used for data analysis. Descriptive statistics, percentage and frequency were used for demographic data. Data were also analyzed by t-test and ANOVA. There is a significant difference according to the perceptions of primary school teachers regarding the organizational power types of primary school principal’s used in management according to variables of gender, age, marital status, type of education, educational status, the faculty graduated, professional seniority, the period of duty in the school, the type of institution, the type of employment in the institution, whether or not to be a union member.
