Edip Ayel, who is not considered as one of the outstanding poets of the Republic period, has defined his poetic goal as “keeping divan poetry and gazel according to taste of his period” and written neoclassical poems in this direction. He brought his work together in his books named Mozaik and ?ehrayin, in his work we see a powerful rhythm. Edip Ayel wote the first samples of some verses in Turkish literature like Rondel, Rondeau, Triolet, Villanelle, Iambos, Pantum. ?stanbul is noticed in his work with its regions both in a picturesque way and as a main theme. In this study, we will analyze how Edip Ayel mentioned ?stanbul in his work.
