As in all professions, job satisfaction is the key element of productive work in academia. Academics satisfying with their jobs have the necessary motivation for development of themselves and their universities. However, levels of job satisfaction among academics can decrease for several reasons. The decrease in job satisfaction level negatively affects the motivation of academics. The aim of this study is to measure the levels of job satisfaction among academicians working in Cumhuriyet University; to analyze the impact of sociodemographic factors. There is no any work previously done on the subject in Cumhuriyet University. In this regard, the findings obtained in the study are expected to contribute the literature. The participants were 320 academics. The result of the study shows that academicians in Cumhuriyet University have high job satisfaction levels. Although job satisfaction level did not vary according to gender and marital status, there are differences between groups in terms of total years of services and status.
