A lot of theoretical research have been performed regarding "Narcissism" word throughout history, however, these researches has increased over the past thirty years. While narcissism word was considered as an element, necessary for formation of human’s personality, in first psychological researches; recent researches defines this concept as a personality disorder. Narcissism causes a personality disorder, which makes our ego desire being admired in every environment, eliminating our weak ego and revealing our perfectionist identity in our life. Narcissistic personality disorder, arising from this concept, appears with a common sense of being very important, superior and unique person, with requirement of being admired and lack of empathy. Many objective and projective tests have been developed to diagnose this personality disorder. Although narcissism and narcissistic personality disorder were identified by psychiatry and clinical psychology disciplines for the first time in the literature, it has become one of the research areas of organizational behavior education, administrative domains and educational sciences. Therefore, we often hear the concept of narcissism in our daily live in recent years. Also many theoretical researches which have been made on this concept draw attention. This study enlightens on the issues such as narcissism, narcissistic personality disorder compared to other personality disorders, how narcissistic personality disorder is formed, tools being used in the detection of narcissistic personality disorder, and researches made on this issue thus revealing the relationship of education and educational activities, with narcissistic personality disorder.
