The central K?z?l?rmak region which includes K?r?ehir and its surroundings is geographically located in the middle of Anatolia. Due to this geographical location K?r?ehir has a responsibility of culture flow between north and south and west and east Anatolia. As a result K?r?ehir which is located on the intersection of the oldest and busiest roads has become an important accommodation area. Therefore some castles were built in and around K?r?ehir for various purposes. The researches made on the region in prehistoric period are sufficient. However the castles in the region are not included in these researches and this is an outstanding deficiency. This study is important as it will supplement the above mentioned deficiencies and also it will bring the region castles in the literature.
