La Croix Paitis’in 1665’te Latin Harfleriyle Yazdıı Türkçe Bir Gazel A Turkish Gazelle Written in Latin by Petis La Croix in 1665

Abstract

A Turkish poem in Latin was written in the introduction part of the work of Petis La Croix depicting the Jean Thevenot’s journey to the East in 1665. Despite entitled as gazelle, the poem was written in the form of mesnewi. This poem by Croix shows the Turquirie fashion that reveals the interest towards the East between the dates 1650-1660
