Laika Karabey, had made contributions to Turkish music in the context of different identities like composer, writer, music educator and besides her critical essays, with her compositions and tanbur performance she was an important figure for Turkish music. Karabey, who is known especially as music theorist and music critic in the context of Turkish music, had moved in the same direction with Hüseyin Sadettin Arel and had play key role during the establishment of Turkish Music Conservatory and she had took part in education of many students. In this study which aimed to put forth contributions of Laika Karabey to Turkish music in the context of her composer identitiy, interview and document analysis methods were used, her nineteen compositions were determined and it was seen that she had preferred to use; the forms of, “?ark?”, "türkü", "pe?rev" and "saz semaisi" and the maqams of "Hicaz", "U??ak", "Kürdili Hicazkâr", "Yegâh",”Rast”, "?ehnaz", "Nihavend", "Segâh", "Hicaz Humayün, “Saba”, “Suz-i Dil”, “?ehnaz Buselik” "and she had one polyphonic composition.
