As is known, adjectives in French may both precede and follow the nouns they qualify. In this study, the position of adjectives in French is analyzed on one hand and the characteristics of the adjectives that precede nouns are highlighted on the other. It is discussed that this characteristic makes us consider that they are in fact similar to syntactic units, also called determiners and/or articles.
