Place, which is one of the main elements of the novel, is as much important as events and individuals.Because of this significance of the place selection, novelists often use pension as a venue when they want to address a large part of the population. In this context, we will dwell on the choice of pensions on the novels "Ayasl? ve Kirac?lar" by Memduh Sevket Esendal, and "Miramar" by Necip Mahfuz in our article. Although they have lived in different regions, we will try to examine the similarities in wording, heroes, and political themes in the novels of these two writers, who centered the pension in order to tell the important political, social and economic events of their period by bringing people together from different parts of society.
