Uykusu, which Mehmet Erolu tells a train travel of a man who doesn't even remember his name, is the first novel that we are going to examine personal and social memory.The second novel we are going to examine is Iss?zl??n Ortas? ,which belongs to the same writer.The main character of the novel is Ayhan lyasolu.In this novel writer tells Ayhan lyasolu's conflict with his past.Ayhan is a depressed character.He served in the army as third lieutenant during Cyprus Peace Operation in 1974.This war had many bad effects on him.After the war he recalls the past all the time. Namely he coalesces with his memory. We are going to try to evaluate the memory as a notion in this two novels.
