The purpose of this research is to compare homophobia level and attitudes of GPC students and other students at faculty of education toward LGBT persons. The sample of study consists of 516 students (193 male 323 female) studying at Mersin University Faculty of Education. In the present study “Personal Information Sheet” prepared by researchers, “The Attitudes Toward Lesbians and Gay Men Scale - The Revised Short Version” developed by Herek (1988), adapted to Turkish by Duyan and Gelbal (2014), “Homophobia Scale” developed by Hudson and Ricketts (1980), adapted to Turkish by Sakall? and U?urlu (2001) were used to collect data. Independent-Samples t-test and One Way Anova test were used to analyze data. The results obtained from this research can be summarized as: A significant gender and grade difference was found on homosexual acquaintance variables and homophobia-ATLG. When the grade level increase, students showed better attitudes. It is observed that female students have better attitudes and lower homophobia level than male students. A significant difference is found between GPC students and the other students at faculty of education. The attitude of GPC students toward LGBT persons is better; homophobia level is lower than the other students at faculty of education. The findings are discussed in the light of current literature and some suggestions are made.
