Abstract In this study, the sources of the work with the name of el-Kâmûs'us-Sâni fi'n-Nahvi ve's-Sarfi ve'l-Me’ânî that Mollah Halil (d.1164/1750) who was one of Ottoman scholars between the first second half of XVIII. Century and first half of XIX. Century and had a well level at Arabic language wrote it about Arabic language were determined. So it was seen that the sources of work with the name of el-Kâmûs went into division. Because Mollah Halil explicitly mentioned some of main sources that he utilized in the introduction of el-Kâmûs. Mollah Halil recorded that he used the abbreviation in the symbol form in order to reach the aforementioned sources easily. However, when we reviewed the work, it was determined that the aforementioned symbols are not more than forty leaves in total and they were given only at the beginning of work. Moreover, it is seen that Mollah Halil utilized mostly some important sources on the oncoming pages of work that he did not mention on the introduction of aforementioned work. Thus, it revealed that the work with the name of el-Kâmûs’ did not consist of the sources which were mentioned only on the introduction. It was seen that Mollah Halil mentioned the name of author, work and sometimes both them as he transferred the sources, that he used in el-Kâmûs to the readers. It was tried to be introduced the aforementioned work’s sources in details to researchers on this article.
