Folklore products, which reflect the beliefs, view of life and way of thinking of the people to the finest details, are quite rich in
archetypes, which are the first example / origin created by humanity as a result of common experiences. These experiences, which are
encountered in every nation from mythological texts to today's humanity, take their source from the collective unconscious and
gradually become universal and transform into archetypes that form human culture.
Dede Korkut Stories, which constitute an important link in Turkish epic literature, have a great importance in reflecting the
common values of the Turkish nation. When looked in terms of the first example / origin, the Dede Korkut Stories constitute various
examples of archetypes. The woman, who has always had an important place in terms of the Turkish nation, also has a very important
place in the Dede Korkut Stories.
In this study, the feature of being a mother archetype of the female character in the Dede Korkut Stories, which has an
important place for the Turkish nation and reflects its common values in all aspects, is examined. By giving examples from the stories, it
has been tried to convey what kind of effect the female characters have on the story in the context of being the “mother archetype”. The
place and importance of woman in the Turkish nation has been discussed based on the female characters in the stories, with idea that
folklore products may also contribute to knowledge of the socio-cultural evolution of women in Turkish culture.
