Abstract

Author(s): Sefa YÜCE

The reflection of the era that started with the Reorganization (Tanzimat) for transformation and searches to the poetry covers a certain process. This process actually emerged in the era before the Reorganisation. There are literature communities instead of literature schools in Turkey, unlike the West. The literature communities starting with “Encümen-i?uara” continued with the formation of “Mutavass?tîn”. They were not the formations with their own poeticas. One of the apparent characteristics of XIX century was the literature meetings having more importance for the formation of such groups. The literary men gathering in these groups had the chance to share their opinions with their colleagues. Also, the places where these meetings took place reflect the changes in the social life. In this study, the evident characteristics of XIX century, formation of “Mutavass?tîn”, literary meetings, the debates on traditional and the news and Andelib, as a pleasure seeker will be considered.
