In this article have been dealt with the methodologies, orgins and short histories of literary theory as one of subbranches of literary science. As each science there are the methodologies, orgins and short histories of literary theory too. Since then Ancient Greek era in Western literature and Tanzimat literature in the Turkish literature it has been written works on the literary theory field (It is intended to that other matters relating to literary theory is be addressed in the continuation of this article.)
