The population of our world is aging rapidly. This situation is affecting developed countries in particular deeply but also it is affecting developing countries deeply. Developments in the field of science and technology and the reflections of this situation on the field of health has led to rapid increase of elderly population quantative and proportionally. And this has caused to gain importance of the phenomenon of old age in our country's agenda and policies. The importance of the old age phenomenon in the modern era in this way has resulted a change in the perception of old age socially. In traditional societies, old age which is accepted as a natural process, perceived as problematic in today's modern societes mostly. However, industrialization, migration from rural to urban and urbanization phenomenon which bring with it directly affect the elderly population. With the migration from rural to urban, elderly people trying to adapt to urban life encounter problems such as poverty, loneliness, exclusion and nursing. In fact, the transformation of the traditional family to nuclear family, entering the woman’s to working life have changed the value and the location of elderly people in the city life. However, city life can also offer new opportunities such as transportation, health services, social activities and so on. for elderly people. In addition, in order to ensure the comfort and convenience of elderly people in urban life, important projects have started to be implemented such as “Senior-Friendly City”. In this sense, cities, tends to be more livable for elderly people.
