Lane is one of the periodicals for children in the Ottoman alphabet which was published between the years 1919-1920. The periodical was published as only three issues by Ercümend Ekrem in Istanbul. Published once every fifteen days, the periodical was sold for five kurus. Lane aimed to attract the attention of children by supporting the texts with pictures and it was written with a pure language. In the periodical, there are not only original and translated works in forms of poem, story, novel, anecdote, tale, conversation, news text, but also awarded contests and anecdotes. It was aimed to entertain the children; on the other hand religious, moral and social values were tried to be acquired by children via these texts. The purpose of this study is to present this periodical for children in the old alphabet to the attentions of the interested people by introducing it and putting forward the translation text.
