Today, with the uncontrolled increase in the number of automobiles, the problem of parking has become one of the main problems in many developed and developing countries. The solution of the problem to a more complex point is the fact that the strategies followed by the local governments in the spatial planning process offer unique solutions and parking solutions are not suitable especially in the city centers. For car park planning, car owners are expected to provide alternative solutions without limiting their activities in the city and increasing the car density of the city center. Especially in cities that preserve their historical and cultural texture and where there are some limiting architectural thresholds in the solution of the parking problem due to the protected areas in the city, decision-makers need to approach with a wider vision. In this study, 5 regions in Kastamonu city center, which is an example of such cities, were selected, the parking problem around these regions was discussed and various solutions were proposed
