Literature review has been used as a methodology of this research. Physical education and sports policies had been shaped by the idea that society should be prepared and ready in case of a war after long-lasting war periods during the Late Ottoman and Early Republican Period. During the Early Republican Period, the one's responsibility to protect his or her own health perceived as a social duty to be fulfilled in patriotic manners. If changes in the sports understanding have been taken into consideration, doing sports had been perceieved as an ultimate goal to equip youth population with strong physical abilities that would serve to the national patriotic ideals by creating a paramilitary power rather than a free time, leisure or pleasure activity The emphasis was on the fact that there could be only one competition or conflict with foreign powers in nationalistic aims rather than allowing for domestic competitive sports. Physical education and sports were identified with each other by the actions which canalised the militaristic features into the sports. In this research, determination of the fact that militaristic structure and sports policies are engaged with each other will be the main focus in order to contribute to the literature in this field
