Students are confronted with many social and psychological problems on university campuses and it is especially necessary for students coming from different cities to be able to keep up with the "emotional connection between person and place" in the process of establishing a new education environment. While social aspects are stronger than physical ones, they both affect general person-place ties. Many studies have revealed that spatial properties are important factors in determining and influencing success. One of the important emotional characteristics expected of students to have on campus and its surroundings is attachment or sense of place to the campus. Determining the characteristics of the spatial designs in the campus can help to determine the effects of attachment. The aim of this study is to determine the level of emotional attachment of students from different cities and to investigate how this affects the educational experience at the Karadeniz Technical University (KTÜ) main campus. For this reason, a 5-point Likert-Scale questionnaire was conducted with 86 KTU students and then the data were analyzed using SPSS (23.0). The results show that students from outside the city are influenced by the campus design, and that spatial elements are an emotional influence that also affects social welfare and psychological development. As a result, it shows that students from outside the city need to make further improvements in the physical design of the campus (open space) in order to improve the attachment-sense of belonging. It is also determined that the relationship between the campus design in the KTÜ and the educational experience of students from outside the city is an effective factor in the emotional attachment of the physical space
