This study aims to see what philosophy of education suits best for the primary teacher trainees’ beliefs about education. Sample of the study is made up of 150 primary teacher trainees who study at Istanbul University in 2015-1016 academic year. What is more, the study includes a general review and is a descriptive study. In the study, “Personal Information Form” which is prepared by the researchers and “Educational Beliefs Scale” which was created by Y?lmaz, Altunkurt and Çokluk (2011) were applied. The study has 40 items in 5-scale Likert type, and 5 sub-dimensions as the philosophies of Perennialism, Essentialism, Progressivism, Reconstructionism and Existentialism.. Some suggestions have been provided in accordance with the results of the data of this study.
